Revealing Marie™ For The First Time at ESTRO 2022

We made our way to ESTRO in early May with a little secret up our sleeve, we had created the first set of covers for our upright CT scanner and we were going to be debuting them at the event. It was a fantastic moment for the team to see the complete Marie™ solution and another huge milestone achieved. A big thank you to our US team who made this possible in particular Bradley Brunker and Tyler Orcutt who worked tirelessly to make this happen!

It was amazing to see the industry react to Marie™ with intrigue and excitement, and many people took the time to sit in the system and feel what patients will experience for themselves when being treated in the upright orientation. We understand that we are creating a paradigm shift in treating patients with radiation therapy, but being able to speak with clinicians and industry experts in-person to educate them and see many of them realise that actually, the workflow is just as simple, if not easier, in the upright orientation reminded us that we are doing the right thing by finding a better way to treat with radiation therapy for both clinicians and patients.

We also had a fantastic demonstration and interview with the team from Centre Léon Bérard at our booth, where they showcased and discussed the current and upcoming research they have been conducting on the first-ever upright patient positioning system from Leo Cancer Care. It gathered quite the crowd and we would like to say a huge thank you to Prof. Vincent Gregoire and Sophie Boisbouvier from Centre Léon Bérard for taking the time to participate and to all those who attended. We also would like to say thank you to the team from CIVCO Radiotherapy who provided us with immobilisation devices for the event, allowing us to demonstrate how you can set up a patient in the upright orientation using devices already used in clinics today, quickly and easily. We will have some exciting new content coming out in collaboration with the CIVCO Radiotherapy team which we recorded at ESTRO, we cannot wait to share it with you as part of our quarterly focus on ‘Managing Motion Upright’.
